This illustrated talk covers artist book and related projects from recent years that ponder the nature of reading. These include projects based on reading Willa Cather's 'My Antonia' and essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It also includes a newly printed artist book 'How did I get inside your head?'. Artist books will be available for handling after the presentation.

Barbara Tetenbaum is a visual artist interested in the act of reading. She uses books, print, installation, and animation to explore this topic. She founded her artist book imprint, Triangular Press in 1979, and produces one to two book projects each year. She resides in Portland, OR where she is on the Studio Art faculty at Reed College. Barb is the recipient of two Fulbright Fellowships, career and project awards from the Oregon Arts Commission, Ford Family Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation and the Regional Arts and Culture Council (Portland area). Barb led the Book + Print Dept. at Oregon College of Art and Craft for 25 years before the college closed in 2019. She holds a B.S. in Fine Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
