Social Justice, Equity, and Universal Participation: The UW Libraries' Book Arts Collection

Online presentation

Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 7pm

Sandra Kroupa, Book Arts & Rare Book Curator, will introduce examples of artists’ books focusing on social justice in works from the last forty-five years. She will highlight artists who use the book as to comment on and potentially change our perceptions of the terms “fair”, “equal” and “supportive”. The talk will primarily use new materials not covered in other presentations to the Book Arts Guild.

All artists’ books shown will be from UW Special Collections, and will be chosen to feature a wide variety of artists and formats.

This free online presentation is open to Book Arts Guild members and the public. To attend, please register in advance here: https://socialjustice-bookarts.eventbrite.com

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
